Each fee is plus the court's own filing fee, set by the court of the county where you file and paid directly to the court. The exact fee for your county is stated in your filing instructions with its source; in Los Angeles County it is $435 as of September 7, 2026, and the fee waiver forms are included if you qualify.
How it works
- Answer the screening questions. If this service fits, you see your flat fee. Nothing is charged.
- Read and sign the limited scope engagement letter, then pay the flat fee by card.
- Answer the intake questionnaire in your own time. It saves as you go, and every figure in your documents comes from what you enter.
- The attorney prepares and reviews each set of documents, and you file and serve as the instruction sheets describe, confirming each date in your portal.
California sets a waiting period of six months from the day your spouse is served or appears before your marriage can legally end (Family Code section 2339). No service, no software and no attorney can shorten it.
Why an attorney and not a form site
- Attorney-prepared from the first documentA licensed California attorney prepares every document from your answers and reviews every one before you see it.
- One flat fee, no hourly charges, no subscriptionThe fee is the whole charge for the attorney’s work. There are no hourly charges, and the fee is stated before you pay.
- Built to be accepted the first timeWhat an attorney can do is make sure the papers are accepted the first time. If the court returns the judgment packet, the first correction is included.

What the law requires, plainly
California sets a waiting period of six months from the day your spouse is served or appears before your marriage can legally end (Family Code section 2339). No service, no software and no attorney can shorten it. What an attorney can do is make sure the papers are accepted the first time, so that the day the six months are up, you are done.
At least one of you must have lived in California for six months and in the filing county for three months (Family Code section 2320). Both of you must exchange financial disclosures. The screening on the next page checks these before you pay anything.
Uncontested means you and your spouse have already agreed on the division of property and debts and on spousal support, and your spouse will cooperate. This service prepares uncontested divorces without minor children.
