The fee and the fee waiver

The fee to file the first paper in a dissolution is $435 as of September 7, 2026, paid to the court by card, check or money order. A fee waiver (form FW-001) is available to people with low income or on public benefits; the office prepares it as part of the flat fee when you ask.

What you bring

The original and two copies of each document in the set the office released to you, signed in ink where the instruction sheet shows. The clerk keeps the original, stamps your copies with the filing date and the case number, and issues the summons. You enter the date and the case number in your portal, and the next set is prepared from them.
