The portal and who provides it
This portal is provided by Law Offices of Rozsa Gyene, 3500 W. Olive Ave., Suite 300, Burbank, CA 91505, telephone (818) 337-4071, email office@uncontestedcaliforniadivorce.com (the "Firm"). Rozsa Gyene is a member of the State Bar of California, number 208356. By using the portal you agree to these terms.
Attorney-client relationship
Answering the screening questions does not make you a client and is not legal advice. The Firm represents only a person who has signed the Firm's limited scope engagement letter, from the moment the letter is signed, and only for what the letter describes. The Firm never represents the other spouse. This is attorney representation in a limited scope, not a form service and not self-help software.
What the portal does
The portal screens whether an uncontested California divorce fits this service, collects the information the documents need, delivers documents the attorney has reviewed and approved, and shows the steps of the case in order with their dates. It does not file anything with the court and does not serve anyone; you do those steps yourself, following the instructions provided. Every document the attorney prepares is reviewed by her before it is released to you, and nothing is released automatically.
What the Firm does not do
The Firm does not provide or arrange notaries or witnesses, does not record deeds, does not appear in court (a court appearance would be a separate engagement), does not give tax advice, and does not prepare contested divorces. California law sets a waiting period of six months from the date the other spouse is served or appears before a marriage can end, and nothing the Firm does shortens it.
Your account
Keep your sign-in credentials private. You are responsible for actions taken with your account and for the accuracy of what you enter. Tell the Firm at once if you believe your account has been used by someone else.
Electronic records and signatures
The engagement letter and your intake declaration are signed electronically as described in the Consent to Electronic Records and Signatures. Court documents are signed on paper.
Fees
The flat fee is stated in the engagement letter you sign before payment and on the cost page. The court's filing fee is separate and is paid by you to the court. The flat fee is earned in stages set out in the engagement letter, and the unearned portion is refundable as the letter provides.
Disputes
These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute about the portal shall be brought in the state courts located in Los Angeles County, California. These terms contain no arbitration clause and no waiver of your right to a court.
